The Group Executive Committee plays a vital role in the running of a Scout Group. Executive Committees make decisions and carry out administrative tasks to ensure that the best quality Scouting can be delivered to young people in the Group.
All parents within our Group are expected to contribute towards fundraising, ie. running a fundraising activity and taking part in Group fundraising… Their job is to make sure that the group runs efficiently and they look after the group finances, grounds, maintenance as well as arranging fundraising events and basically leaving the leaders free to concentrate on the important part … the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.
The group Executive committee runs the group. They are the representatives of the parents and are elected each year at the AGM.
They are not elected to do all of that themselves, however, and all parents are required to support the exec as much as possible. The expression “many hands make light work” is especially true in a scout group.
The Exec is made up of the following people at the moment:
Chairperson – Joseph Hocking
Secretary’s – Jo Armstrong
Treasurer – Jo Hart
