A Group Skills Instructor runs activities. this is the minimum required to hold an Adventurous activities permit
The first stage is to complete a DBS check and get setup on Compass. In parallel, you can start on the two pieces of online training you will require
Module 1 – Essentials

GDPR
https://members.scouts.org.uk/training_module/GDPRwithcertificate/#/
You will be invited to a meeting help by the district appointments committee where they will have an informal chat about teh role
A valid 1st response certificate is highly recommended, however as long as someone present in the activity group has a current 1st Aid qualification, that is strictly what is required
We need to have a discussion after you have completed Module 1, but we can do that at the same time as we look at the scout rules etc regarding Watersports as they are a bit different from RYA / BCU rules. The online training will probably take about 20 min per module.
